Offseason bliss?

Training camp begins in 9 days! NINE! The end of this way too long summer, will come to a close, and my life will return! Some of the things we do to get through the long summer are very awkward at times. Here are a few of mine…

• SCF done. My Flyers lose, so I am depressed and not a happy lady for a couple weeks….
• Get over that, and here comes the circus of the NHL awards show… No Mikko, no good…
• July 1, 2010 UFA signing day, Cullen aquired, BONUS day. Risebrough never did that…
• Now comes the challenge, what do I do with my day….
• I add a third job to my already demanding first job and easy second…
• I run more in the mornings than ever before, it kills time…
• I try to watch reruns on NHL Network, too fresh, except the Flyers making history, of course…
• Top tens on NHL Network…
• Memorizing Slapshot and Miracle… backwards….
• Twitter me silly! Hardly any hockey talk, baseball all over my timeline… ugh…
• Reading hockey books… again…
• Teaching my 3 dogs new tricks, or I should say trying to teach them anything…
• Staring at the TiVo that has no purpose anymore….
• Looking at my beautiful HDTV, with nothing on, black screen, and wondering why I need it in the summer…
• Going through terrabytes of TiVoed hockey games, only to find that even the past 5 years is still too fresh…
• Tried to go curling, never again…
• Took up tennis again, fun, but does anyone really play anymore…
• Took up skating again, with the hope to play again, only to get concussed at work, I’ll be fine, but my offseason “true” bliss has been destroyed now…
• My Droid had daily issues. This is not a good thing, but very fitting…
• Went to meet a few players on the Wild road tour. Highlight of my summer, sad, just sad…
• Sitting in my hockey room, in a seat from the old Met Center, great felling, but at the same time, it is was still offseason…
• Watching as Mikey Mo signs with the Red Wings. Retire already dude….
• Watching stupid movies on movie channels. These are 9 days away from being turned off, asthey are only good for the summer. HBO may remain on, only because of Boardwalk Empire. If it isn’t any good, I will see you in June again, HBO…
• More twitter… Vikings talk now… ugh
• Adding to my deck, only because it will keep me occupied for a while with the carpenters, and my directions…
• Travel. I didn’t go anywhere this summer. I did make it Duluth and Rochester if that counts…
• I did continue to teach myself some HTML. It shows well here if I do say so myself…
• BizNasty. Enough said…
• I cleaned out my air ducts myself. This took 4 days and my house is so fresh now. 4 days down…
• Changed the oil and plugs in my car once out of sheer boredom. Hair full of oil, not happening again…
• The Kovalchuk saga. Who cares…
• Saw the dentist 3 times over the summer, because I could. Although I am paying her, she still seems a tad upset…
• Listened to the Mikko Koivu interview after re-signing, priceless…
• Staubitz and Nystrom signed, total win. Seeya Boogaard and Scott *fist pump*…
• Concussed and cannot do anything physical, this summer is the longest EVER…
• Planned a huge wedding for a friend. Would have done it any time of year, in the middle of the night, after hockey was over, of course…
• Turned insomniac, again. When getting home late at night I need hockey, so no sleep was awesome. Words cannot capture the emotion in this one…
• PMB news of skating again. Next…
• Promotion at work. Looks like the travel to other cities games are now on my employer *fist pump*…
• Is it October yet…
• Love life zilch. who knew…
• Shep hurt in ATV accident, dammit…
• No dates yet set for open scrimmages during training camp. Dammit again. Some of us work for a living. Anyone else going?…
• 2 new TiVos added this summer. I am going to get every Wild and Flyer game this year, and then some. Perhaps I can watch them in 20 years. You know, so they are not so fresh…
• Went to both zoos one day. Yeah fun stuff…
• Went to a few movies…
• Went to one Twins game, only to walk around most of the time and eat. I wanted to see the new Target Field. Never understood the spectator part of baseball…
• Went to only one concert, I know, bad me…
• Had a new roof put on my house. Was going to paint my house red, with green roofing. Stayed with the blue house, and black shingles. I hope that doesn’t make me a bandwagoner, as it still bothers me…
• I did put up Wild tiles in my kitchen. I feel better now…
• The pink jerseys and glitter shirts have to go. I think they could just make some that actually fit a lady properly. Maybe that is asking too much, but us ladies DO GO TO GAMES TOO!

Be happy! Nine days. NINE DAYS! Count them, NINE!
