Playoff Push Gone Askew?

Pointing out a few players here. Jared Spurgeon. Someone on Twitter last night mentioned “he is a keeper.” This kid has been unbelievable, and is getting more solid and consistent through each game he plays. He is not afraid to go after the puck, and knows what to do with it when he gets it on the tape.

Then Mikko Koivu. Are you kidding me? He has been playing insane, out of his mind, pure gold. Mikko never ceases to amaze me with hit gut felt plays, his perseverance is not to be touched by anyone in the league in my opinion. He keeps going no matter what, and with everything he can give. He is the perfect example of what a “C’ should be. Many people questioned him early this season. Do not confuse the lack of a good solid RW here with the fact he brings everything, every night.. Mikko is the man!

Of couse I will bring up Cal Clutterbuck. How can I not? We all love his hits, fosho yo! But his scoring ability is going to another level. He was never known as hitter before reaching the AHL/NHL. Now he is hated amongst many in that department. Man, did he have The Canucks frazzled with his chirping last night, or what? He never repents. After that totally sick, dirty, filthy wrister last night, he continued to pour it on. Go “Clutz” go!! I will admit when I am wrong. I have no problem with it. [see -> I called "Clutz" to score 20 this year. Apparently, I underestimated!!!!]

Tonight the Chicago Blackhawks could be a test. Key word here being “could.” They have been in somewhat of a slump lately. It is always a good matchup when we play them either way. They are 3 points behind us in the conference. We really need this win. After the loss last night, they need to bring their “A” game and forget about it. The lost, but played sick, just sick. Forecheck anyone? Fierce forecheck anyone? And to say we needed a lucky bounce last night, or that we were not getting any breaks, is the easy way out. This is a game of skill and passion. Yes, goals go in sometimes on a fluke. Personally, I prefer the sick goals, the ones they work for. The Wild‘s work ethic bar has been raised. Only thing we are missing? Being a team to hate. It is getting there, and I am so ready for it!

Versus! 7:00 PM. Be there!
