Wild re-sign Brodziak to a three year extension

Just after Backstrom and the Wild blanked the Bruins in a 2-0 victory, which is a much needed victory if the Wild want to make it to the playoffs, the Wild announced that they re-signed center Kyle Brodziak to a three year extension.

This is great news for the team and the franchise as a whole.  Since the Wild acquired him three years ago for the Edmonton Oilers,  he has gotten better and better each year.  In his first year with the organization he had 32 points and last year he had 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points.  This year he has 15 goals and 14 assists.

Not only does he provide some offense from the third line that he normally plays on but he also plays well defensively.  Making him a valuable

On a team that has suffered a lot of injuries this season he has been the one constant.  He has played in all but two games since he came to the franchise.

As I was watching this afternoons game I finally found something the Pierre Mcguire said that I can actually agree with.  Frankly I find the man annoying and stupid but he did say that the Wild need to trade Zidlicky and Zanon.  And I agree.  The have been the worst D-men for the Wild and they need to go and be replaced by younger talent.  It sounds like the most likely place for Zidlicky to go is New Jersey and for Zanon….maybe back to Music City? Who knows.  One can hope that Fletcher will make the right decision and get rid of these two.
