Report: Houston Aeros to Become Iowa Wild?

News leaked out on Twitter tonight that the Houston Aeros are expected to officially make an announcement tomorrow on the expected relocation of the Houston Aeros to Des Moines, Iowa. Pioneer Press Minnesota Wild beat writer Chad Graff indicates that a new team name has already been decided upon.

Update: The Star Tribune’s Michael Russo has confirmed that the Minnesota Wild will officially seek approval to relocate the Aeros to Des Moines, Iowa, next season. It is expected to be approved and the Wild will indeed rename the team the Iowa Wild. A press conference regarding both the Iowa and Minnesota Wild will be held in Des Moines on Monday. Minnesota’s rebranded minor league affiliate will play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center.
