Wild Training Camp Roster Announced

The Minnesota Wild training camp roster for the 2014-15 season was announced today. Camp officially begins on Thursday, September 18 with physicals and the players will be taking to the ice for the first time on Friday.

As previously announced the team will have an open practice that is free for the public on Saturday, with doors opening to the public at 8:30am and practice concluding at 1pm. Fans should enter through Gate 1 at Xcel Energy Center. That day fans will also be able to purchase single game tickets, which go on sale at 10am.

With training camp upon us, that also means that the Wild will open their preseason schedule one week from today in Winnipeg.

In addition a couple of changes to camp have been announced, with the team being split into three separate units for the first three days of camp and each of those units getting two scrimmages. That will be reduced to two units on Monday, the day of the first preseason game. (As far as I can tell that reduction to two units doesn’t necessarily mean there will be cuts at that point.) Then on September 28 the practice units will be reduced to one, which means we’ll likely see some significant cuts just prior to that.

The training camp roster has 35 players and will likely see a round of additional players getting added to the list later this week, following the conclusion of the Traverse City Prospects Tournament.
