Playoff Odds

After last night’s game the Wild’s odds are up 5.9% to 43.6% according to Sports Club Stats. They took a slight hit when the Los Angeles Kings beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, but were helped by a regulation decision between the Calgary Flames and the San Jose Sharks.

Tonight the Wild stand to gain 9.3% in their odds, with the two points helping, but they’d also be denying the Jets a pair of points. The Wild would also benefit from a Dallas loss to Boston.

The Reads You Need Before the Game

  • Brett Sutter and Stu Bickel have been recalled by the Wild.
  • That’s because Ryan Carter and Jason Zucker have landed on injured reserve following yesterday’s game.
  • Speaking of last night’s game, here’s a recap.
  • In that game, Matt Dumba took a slapshot that knocked the skate blade out of Derek Dorsett’s skate.
  • Here are the Wild’s three stars of the week.
  • Justin Fontaine has been activated off IR.
  • Scott Hartnell scored a goal in his 1,000th game yesterday. (Though it wasn’t enough to beat the Kings and help the Wild.)
  • In a pretty classy move, the San Jose Sharks traded future considerations to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Evgeni Nabokov. It’s presumed that it’s so that Nabokov can retire as a Shark. The announcement is expected soon.
  • An article about what it’s like being the third man on the Sedin’s line.
  • The Stars’ John Klingberg has quietly quietly joined the Calder discussion.
  • Players on the Toronto Maple Leafs are feeling the tension as the trade deadline approaches.
