Backs Blanks the Bruins; Stops 48 shots

Niklas Backstrom stopped 48 shots for a career high and got his fourth shut out of the season again the Boston Bruins. Chad Rau, his little brother Kyle plays for the Gophers, got the game going with the first goal in the second period. Rau took quite the trip to get here. He had been with the Houston Aeros last night when he got the call up and apparently had to fly from Vancouver into LAX and then catch a red eye to Minnesota. Matt Cullen, got the second goal of the game and broke a 15 game drought of no scoring. The MN Wild got out shot as usual but this team that showed up today looked like a much better one than the one that lost to the Blues 4-0 yesterday.
