Yesterday the Wild acquired Nick Palmieri from the New Jersey Devils as a part of a trade that sent Marek Zidlicky to them. Who is Nick?
He was drafted in 2007 in the third round by the Devils. He spent 2005-2010 in the OHL and the AHL where he totaled up around 200 in points. 120 of them were goals. Something interesting about Nick was that in 2011 he played on the US team in the WC. Nick with the US team in 2011. He had 2 goals and 1 assist.
In 2010-2012 Nick played in 78 games for the New Jersey Devils. He had 13 goals, 12 assists and was a +2. The Wild had to get rid of Zidlicky. His attitude had to be bringing the team down despite denials from players. How could it not? I am sure they read the papers.
Nick is only 22 and is 6’3 and 220 lbs. With his height and weight, he could prove to be a force to be reckoned with. Nick also provides experience and youth which Chuck Fletcher really likes. Only time will tell, but Welcome To The State Of Hockey Nick!
