According to a tweet by Finnish hockey writer Jouni Nieminen, Minnesota may officially be out of the running for Finnish undrafted free agent netminder Antti Raanta. When asked about Raanta’s possible decision, Nieminen tweeted:
@Warren_Suitor I hear its not Minnesota.

While it’s not necessarily surprising considering the goalies already in the system, it is certainly disappointing if true. However, until confirmed, anything can happen at this point. Even if Minnesota loses out on Raanta’s services, there are a few quality goaltenders in this year’s draft available if they so choose.
