The Minnesota Wild will be holding their annual Development Camp starting Tuesday July 9th at the Excel Energy Center.  36 Wild prospects including this years entry draft class will be in St. Paul for on and off ice sessions.  Fans will be able to see the prospects in a 3-on-3 tournament open to the public Thursday through Saturday (details below).  Former Wild players Brad Bombardir, Director Of Player Development and Andrew Brunette, Hockey Operations Advisor will be in charge of the on-ice sessions.  Minnesota’s coaches will also be meeting with the players in off ice sessions and interviews.  The players will also go through strength and conditioning sessions and testing.  This camp gives the Wild coaching staff to get an up close look at the prospects in the pipeline prior to September’s full pre-season  training camp.  This will be the first time Head Coach Mike Yeo and his assistants get an upclose and personal look at some of the newer prospects.  For the players this is the best shot many of them have to impress the Minnesota Wild coaching staff prior to next season wherever that may be.  Many of these prospects will be returning to junior teams, ECHL Orlando Solar Bears, or AHL Iowa Wild squads.

The list of prospects includes all 7 of this years draftees along with players such as Brett Bulmer, Mathew Dumba, Erik Haula, Zack Phillips, and Raphael Bussieres.  Click here for a list of the players invited to the 2013 Player Development Camp.  This is a chance for Wild fans to get a look at the future of the Minnesota Wild organization and see the players in the pipeline in person.  Wild fans, this may be your only chance to see some of these players in a Wild sweater.

The public sessions are as follows:

3:30 – 4:45 p.m. Thursday, July 11

2:45 – 4 p.m. Friday, July 12

2:45 – 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13

Gate 1 of the Excel Energy Center will open 30 minutes before each 3-on-3 tournament session.
