Report: Nate Prosser Signs With St. Louis Blues

According to the Star Tribune’s Michael Russo, defenseman Nate Prosser has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the St. Louis Blues.

The Wild had opened discussions with Prosser briefly about his returning to Minnesota, but those talks fell apart, according to earlier reports, because he was unwilling to sign a two-way contract with the Wild.

Maybe the market wasn’t as kind as Prosser and his agent had hoped or maybe he wasn’t interested in returning to Minnesota due to the long line of young defenseman the Wild would surely like to get a shot in the NHL.

Either way, Prosser, a Minnesota native, will remain in the Central Division as he heads to St. Louis for the 2014-15 season.

We recapped Prosser’s history in Minnesota, including his Hockey Day Minnesota OT game-winner, last week.
