Iowa Wild Re-Sign Defenseman Corbin Baldwin

The Iowa Wild announced Tuesday that they have re-signed defenseman Corbin Baldwin to a one-year, standard player contract (SPC). Baldwin joined the Wild for 64 games in 2013-14, registering one assist and a team-leading 129 penalty minutes.

That was Baldwin’s first full American Hockey League season. He played four games with the Houston Aeros the year prior, spending most of the season with the team’s ECHL affiliate the Orlando Solar Bears. He also played one game last season with the team’s CHL affiliate, the Quad City Mallards.

Baldwin’s a big defenseman at 6-foot-5, 205 pounds and is only 23-years old. He joins an Iowa Wild team that is bringing in a lot of young talent and size. the team hopes to correct what was a tough year last year, finishing last in the Western Conference during their first season in Des Moines.
