Watch Every Goal Matt Moulson Scored With The Wild Last Season

We all liked Matt Moulson. Almost all Wild fans wanted him to return to Minnesota, as long as it was under one of two situations.

1. He gets re-signed because Thomas Vanek signs elsewhere.

2. The Wild are able to sign both Vanek and Moulson.

Wild fans ultimately got what they wanted in a Vanek signing, but Moulson is heading back to Buffalo with his pal Cody McCormick. Though his time was short and his postseason lackluster, he should be missed. He had the kind of character that made Wild fans think he’d fit right in with Suter, Parise, Koivu, and Pominville and made some hockey writers say Minnesota doesn’t really have any characters on their team. (Do they not remember Ilya and Konopka?!?)

Here, we remember our brief time with Matt Moulson. Enjoy playing with Connor McDavid next season.

#1 (with the Wild)

03/09/14 vs. St. Louis Blues

STL 3 – MIN 2 (SO)

The first goal of the short-lived Moulson era in St. Paul.

#2

03/18/14 vs. New York Islanders

MIN 6 – NYI 0

This game was a lot of fun to watch. Isles fans supported Moulson in his return more than they supported their own team.

#3

03/18/14 vs. New York Islanders

MIN 6 – NYI 0

Moulson finished off the scoring in the Wild’s 6-0 thumping of the Islanders by getting his second of the night. Remember, this is on Long Island. That cheering? That shouldn’t be happening. Islanders fans lost faith late in the year.

#4

03/23/14 vs. Detroit Red Wings

MIN 4 – DET 3 (OT)

Moulson pops in the OT game-winner in one of the most exciting games of the season.

Jonas Brodin’s

vision on this goal is fantastic. He could have fired the puck right away, but you can see him tracking Moulson, waiting for him to cross, and he gets the puck on net at the exact right moment.

#5

03/31/14 vs. Los Angeles Kings

MIN 3 – LAK 2

Moulson with a headlock and a goal.

#6

04/10/14 vs. St. Louis Blues

STL 2 – MIN 4

#7

04/26/14 vs. Colorado Avalanche

MIN 3 – COL 4 (OT)

Moulson really earns this one. He gets the play started behind the net, creates a little havoc in front of the net, then does battle and gets into position to deflect the

Jared Spurgeon

shot.
