Minnesota-native and Hockey Day Minnesota hero Nate Prosser became the odd-man out that everyone was rooting for last season. Not only do Wild fans love a Minnesota native, his overtime heroics during Hockey Day Minnesota — which was hosted in his hometown of Elk River, MN — made everyone a believer, or at least want to believe, in Prosser.
He finished the season playing a career high 53 games, registering two goals, six assists, and 58 penalty minutes.
Now, Elk River’s favorite son is headed to a Central Division rival after signing a one-year deal with the St. Louis Blues.
Enjoy both of Prosser’s 2013-14 season goals, scored in back-to-back games, below.
#1
01/16/14 vs. Edmonton Oilers
EDM 1 – MIN 4
Prosser gets his first of the season and the second of his career.
#2
01/18/14
vs. Dallas Stars (Hockey Day Minnesota) DAL 2 – MIN 3 (OT)
The story couldn’t have been written any better. Prosser, an Elk River-native, gets his second game-winner in a row, scoring the OT goal against the former North Stars on a Hockey Day Minnesota that had earlier played games in his hometown of Elk River. Prosser may have signed with St. Louis, but this will be a memorable goal for Wild fans.
