Marco Scandella pushed through last season, setting career high marks in games played, assists, points, plus/minus, shots, and tied a career-high in goals at three. With his shooting percentage at an abysmal 3.8%, it’d be reasonable to think you’ll see Scandella hitting even better marks this coming season.
He asserted himself as a consistent part of the Wild defense and should continue to see regular time next year, even likely as a part of the top four with Ryan Suter, Jonas Brodin, and Jared Spurgeon.
Watch each of his three regular season and two postseason goals from last season.

12/05/13 vs. Chicago Blackhawks
CHI 3 – MIN 4
Scandella’s first of the year is a game-winner over Chicago. He got that off quick.
#2 —
01/02/14 vs. Buffalo Sabres
BUF 1 – MIN 4
Scandella pilots a nice give-and-go that makes you wonder how he doesn’t produce more offense. Also, that dude with the red sweatshirt? Is he friends with the camera guy? He’s been in like five highlights I’ve seen.
#3 —
01/12/14 vs. Nashville Predators
MIN 4 – NSH 0
Scandella had a solid season, but he has a quick shot and the ability to activate from the blueline. Wish I had more goals to show you.
#4 —
04/19/14 vs. Colorado Avalanche
MIN 2 – COL 4
A short-handed goal from Scnadella in Game 2 of the playoffs.
#5 —
04/28/14 vs. Colorado Avalanche
COL 2 – MIN 5
Scandella puts in the second empty-netter of the night to ice Game 6 for the Wild. Two goals in the first six games of the postseason after scoring just three in 76 during the season. Not too bad.
