Tyler Graovac

Graovac, a seventh round pick in the 2011 draft, finished second on the

Iowa Wild

in goals last season with 13. (I’ll probably say this again, but it was a rough year in Iowa, no one broke 20 goals.) Hockey’s Future

currently rates him

as the Wild’s top prospect at center, even though he’s probably still a little light for a 6-foot-5 player at 200 pounds. He’s got a nice shot and a nose for the net, which, coupled with his size, makes him an exciting prospect to watch.

He signed his first pro contract in April 2013 after putting up 38 goals and 35 assists through 60 games split between Ottawa 67s and the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) during his overage year, as well as 22 points (6-16-22) in 15 playoff games with the Bulls. With Iowa an improved team coming into this season and one pro year under his belt, I’m interested to see how Graovac does this year.
