It appears that the Wild will remain cautious with Zach Parise, which, while the team needs him, is good to hear. Parise will not be traveling with the team to Dallas for Saturday’s afternoon game.
The team does state that he’s a possibility for Sunday’s game in St. Paul against the surprisingly good Winnipeg Jets. The move to keep Parise out allows the team to play him in just one of the back-to-back games and give him a day to see how he responds to being back in the lineup instead of just throwing him back into a game situation the following day.
Elsewhere, Jonas Brodin and Marco Scandella are expected to remain out over the weekend with what appears to be a case of the mumps. The team is taking what precautions they can to ensure that it doesn’t spread throughout the team.
Matt Cooke is not expected to play over the weekend.
