Justin Falk, Jordan Schroeder Returned To Iowa Wild
Immediately following Sunday’s weird Wild v. Jets afternoon seesaw event, the Wild reassigned defenseman Justin Falk and forward Jordan Schroeder to the Iowa Wild.
Schroeder made his Minnesota Wild debut in Thursday’s win over Buffalo where he played 12:06, largely on the third line with Erik Haula and Thomas Vanek. He logged a penalty, two takeaways, a pair of shots, and a 63% Corsi For (via HockeyStats.ca).
Schroeder was scratched in Saturday and Sunday’s games. He’s currently the leading scorer for the Iowa Wild.
Falk has played three games with the team this season and currently sports a team worst for defenders -19.40% Fenwick Relative (via War on Ice). He’s also averaging just 8:26 of 5-on-5 ice time per game, which is the lowest mark among team defense outside of Jonathon Blum, who has only suited up for a single game.
Falk isn’t entirely without value to the team, but he has yet to make a big impact in his limited time in St. Paul.
Here’s the Wild’s D. Size variable is TOI.
The team also reported briefly that Stu Bickel was headed to Iowa as well, but retracted that shortly after it was announced. Bickel will be staying with the NHL Wild.
