Minnesota Wild GIFs of the Game: vs. Anaheim Ducks, 12.05.14

Ryan Kesler opens the scoring on a nice stretch pass from Kyle Palmieri. 1-0 Ducks.

Jakob Silfverberg scores in close on Darcy Kuemper off a feed from Andrew Cogliano. 2-0 Ducks.

A couple looks at Keith Ballard‘s big hip check on Corey Perry that sent Perry out of the game in the first period.

Kesler scores again, beating Kuemper cleanly for the second time.

Mikko Koivu scores on the 5-on-3 power play (!?) to make it 3-1. Assists to Mikael Granlund and Marco Scandella.

Then Zach Parise scores on the power play immediately afterward in the 5-on-4. (!?) Assists to Granlund and Jonas Brodin. 3-2 Ducks.

Then the Ducks are rushing the net, get one close, and Nate Prosser closes his glove on the puck in the crease and saves a goal. Ref misses the call. No penalty. It’s reviewed. Didn’t go in.

And just before the end of the period, Brodin ties the game. Assists to Jason Pominville and Christian Folin. 3-3.

Justin Fontaine blew through the neutral zone with speed I didn’t know he had, to give the Wild the lead following four unanswered goals. Assists to Kyle Brodziak and Prosser. 4-3 Wild.

Tim Jackman grabs his own rebound to tie the game. 4-4.

Matt Belesky gives the lead back to the Ducks. 5-4 Ducks.

Other League Highlights
This was almost the save of the year. But, Semyon Varlamov‘s glove was inside the net. Good goal.

After Varlamov got pulled in that game, Patrick Roy pulled Reto Berra with over 14 minutes left because they were on a 5-on-3 and he wanted it to be 6-on-3. Then he put Berra back into the game during play.
