Zach Parise earned NHL’s 3rd Star of the Week honors this week after a sensational week for the Minnesota Wild. Parise was tied for first among all NHL skaters with three goals as he scored a goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets then netting two big goals in a third-period rally against the Detroit Red Wings.
Parise is currently riding a four-game goal streak and leads the Wild with 19 goals and is second in points with 36. Parise’s tenacious play will be crucial for the Wild if they want to make a playoff run. After a stretch where the Wild lost 10 of 12 games, the Wild seemed to have found the swagger they had earlier this year. Getting Mikael Granlund back within the next few games will help solidify the lineups and, barring any further injuries, should be set to begin a healthy winning streak of their own.
