The tiny bump came from the Los Angeles Kings losing in overtime to the Anaheim Ducks. They still grabbed a point though and they’re cementing themselves into third place in the Pacific Division, with the fourth place Calgary Flames just outside of a wild card spot.
Tonight, aside from a Wild win, the team can get a little help in their playoff hopes with (in descending order of importance) a St. Louis Blues win over the Winnipeg Jets, a Philadelphia Flyers win over the Calgary Flames, a Toronto Maple Leafs win over the San Jose Sharks, a Columbus Blue Jackets win over the Vancouver Canucks, and an Arizona Coyotes win over the Colorado Avalanche. (Though if you are a Wild fan who hates the Avalanche, you probably want them to win, because they aren’t going to make the playoffs and they’re just working themselves into a worse draft pick by winning.)
Here’s a look at how the playoff probabilities in the Western Conference look at the moment.
