Devan Dubnyk is the First Star of the Week for the second time since joining the Minnesota Wild.
On the morning of his first autograph signing as a member of the Minnesota Wild, Devan Dubnyk was named the NHL’s first star of the week. This is the second time he’s been the first star of the week since joining the Wild. He was the first star of the week once in February and the first star of the month for February. He also earned the third star of the week once in February.
More from Wild News
- Defenseman Matt Dumba signs one-year contract with Arizona
- Minnesota Wild reach agreement with Brandon Duhaime on one-year contract
- Minnesota Wild receive mixed grades for picks in NHL Entry Draft
- Minnesota Wild draft heavy on centers and home-state selections
- Minnesota Wild open regular season at home against Stanley Cup Finalist
Last week, Dubnyk went 4-0-0 with a 1.22 GAA and a .964 split, leading the Wild to a 5 game win streak and a franchise best 10 straight wins on the road. He did not allow more than 1 goal in 3 of his 4 wins and stopped a flurry of shots including all 3 in the shootout from the New York Islanders.
Devan Dubnyk’s play has energized this team back in to the playoffs and looks to have found his home in St. Paul for a long time. It’ll be interesting to see if Dubnyk gets any rest down the stretch. For now, he looks like the presumptive starter until the Wild’s season is finished
I’ll be live at Dubnyk’s autograph signing all evening with more.
