2015 NHL Mock Draft: Minnesota Wild First Round Pick
With the 20th overall pick in the Fansided 2015 NHL Mock Draft, the Minnesota Wild select Colin White, Center from the United States National Development Team Program.
The deepest NHL draft in recent memory is upon us, and the Minnesota Wild has an opportunity to select one of many promising centers, but Colin White fits the Wild’s system with a solid 2-way game. After selecting Alex Tuch last season, the Wild should have no problem dipping back in to the USNDTP pool.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing in at 183 pounds, White’s biggest knock is likely his size. I don’t think that detracts the Minnesota Wild, who need to find a #2 center to replace Mikko Koivu in a few years. Ranked 15th overall by ISS and 29th among North American skaters by NHL central scouting, White finished the 2014-2015 season with 23 goals and 54 points in 54 games. You can take a look at his stats below, courtesy of our friends at Elite Prospects
The 2015 NHL mock draft on Fansided shows centers flying off the board. While white might be a bit of a reach at 20, I’d be extremely excited to hear his name called by the Wild on draft day. The Wild has no bigger need than center, and White has a ton of skills the Wild need.
