Minnesota Wild Extended Winning Streak to Four Games after Thumping the Chicago Blackhawks 6-1
Minnesota Wild extended winning streak to four games Sunday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium after thumping the Chicago Blackhawks 6-1. Not only did they crush the Blackhawks but they did it in style to win their first home game in 2016 and under interim coach John Torchetti.
The Wild came out with a bang starting out strong by opening the game with a 2 on 1 and registered their first shot just 22 seconds into the game. Matt Dumba started the scoring early in the first period. That was followed by a beautiful redirect by Thomas Vanek. Nino Neideritter scored the third goal of the game in the second period. Then Jason Pomminville made it 4-0 , followed by Ryan Carter in the third. Patrick Kane made it 5-1. Finally, Erik Haula scored the ENG to make the final score 6-1. When asked about his goal Haula didn’t even put in the net he said “Torch said that will be the easiest goal I’ll ever score and I’ll take it.”
The Wild have climbed up the standings a couple of points and are only out of playoff position by one point. The standings are as follows:
