All four Minnesota Wild prospects have made the first cut down at the National Junior Evaluation Camp. Yesterday’s announcement is great news for the future superstars of the Wild Kunin, Greenway, Boka, and Sadek as they are one step closer to representing the US at the World Junior Championships in December.
Yesterday USA Hockey’s National Junior Evaluation Camp crossed reached a critical point as the original roster of two teams was combined into one team of 32 players to finish the camp. These final 32 players will all compete for a sport on the team that will represent the US at the World Junior Championships starting on December 26th. Four Wild prospects started the camp and all four of them made it through this first cut down.
Defensmen Jack Sadek and Nick Boka along with forwards Jordan Greenway and Luke Kunin have all made it to the next level of camp and will play three more scrimmages to complete the camp on Saturday. These four Wild making to the next level are the most prospects from any NHL franchise. The trimmed USA roster will play games against Sweden today at 4 p.m., Finland at 4 p.m. Friday, and Canada at 7 p.m. on Saturday to conclude the camp.

The World Juniors run from December 26th to January 5th from Bell Centre in Montreal. This is a stage that has been known to showcase many of the great players on their way to the NHL. If they all make the final squad, this should be a great view of just how Kunin, Sadek, Greenway, and Boka can play in steep competition against many of the worlds greats from all the different development leagues. The Development Camp was a great way see these Wild players’ talents, but the World Juniors will be a great way to see how they hold up in a competitive game situation.
What’s more the fact that all four Wild players have made it to the final cut speaks volumes about their talent and potential. Kunin and Greenway have tallied points in each of their first two games for Team Blue, including a shorthanded goal by Kunin in the first game against Finland. Boka and Sadek have both played solid defense as well. It’s a good sign to see the Wild prospects continue to excel at the every level.
