The Kirill Kaprizov hype train just keeps rolling down the tracks. With Kaprizov playing out his final year of his current contract in the KHL, Minnesota Wild fans are hopeful he’ll be donning a Wild jersey during the 2020-2021 season.

Kaprizov has Wild fans salivating, as he continues to showcase his playmaking ability in Russia. In his team’s latest game he scored his first goal of the season and recorded an assist. In four games this season the talented winger now has four assists and one goal and has recorded one point or more in three straight games.

Wild fans aren’t the only ones excited to see Kaprizov in the State of Hockey. There is this quote from Wild coach, Bruce Boudreau on Kaprizov when Boudreau was asked about the status of Kaprizov.

"I’m like everybody else here. I’m pretty anxious to see this guy. I asked Bill Guerin the same question the other day and he said, “He’s special, he’s just special.” That’s about the fourth GM that has told me that on him. If that’s the case, I think the Wild are going to get quite a good player when he eventually comes over and I think he’s eligible to come over after this year. So as long as we don’t put too much pressure on him as fans and let the young man develop properly, I think you’re going to have a really good player here."

Wild fall in OT

The Wild lost their third game of the Prospects Tournament on Monday to the New York Rangers, 4-3 in overtime. Ivan Lodnia scored the Wild’s first goal of the game to give them a 1-0 lead. The Rangers tied the game late in the third and went on to win the game in overtime 4-3.

The Wild went 0-3 in round-robin play, losing their last two games in overtime and losing all three games by one goal. They’ll wrap up the tournament today at 11 a.m.
