Minnesota Wild vs. L.A. Kings: Game preview, streaming, betting, more

The Minnesota Wild complete the back end of a season-opening, two-game West Coast road trip with a matchup against the Los Angeles Kings.

Both teams opened their respective schedules with a win.  The Kings’ Anze Kopitar registered a hat trick and five points in a 6-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night.

Then the Wild scored  a dramatic win over Anaheim on Friday in the Honda Center. Minnesota scored the final two goals in a 2-1 win over the Ducks that included the game-winner by Marcus Foligno with 7.2 seconds left in regulation.

Minnesota improved to 11-8-2 in season opening games and 3-7-1 in season openers on the road.

Series history

Minnesota has a 38-25-13 all-time record against the Kings that includes a17-14-7 mark in Los Angeles. The Wild won six of the eight matchups between the two teams last year and three of the four games in the Staples Center.

Kirill Kaprizov scored the game-winner in overtime in the season opener against the Kings and finished with six goals and nine points over the eight games. Joel Eriksson Ek also had six goals against the Kings in 2020-21 and Jordan Greenway had seven assists.

Cam Talbot posted a 4-0 mark with a 2.19 goals against average against the Kings last season.

Kopitar had a goal and team-high eight points against the Wild last season. Drew Doughty chipped in with seven points.
