The Minnesota Wild look to continue a pair of streaks on Saturday.

The Wild, off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2015, will look to remain perfect on the young season against an Anaheim team it has dominated recently.

Minnesota bet the Ducks 2-1 in the season opener on Marcus Foligno’s goal in the closing seconds. It was the Wild’s eighth straight win in the series between the Western Conference  foes.

Cam Talbot will make his fourth straight start for the Wild in net with Kaapo Kahkonen expected to make his season debut on Sunday against Nashville.

Talbot made 28 saves last week and is 13-7-2 with a 2.03 goals against average and three shutouts in 22 games against the Ducks.

Lineup

The Minnesota Wild appear to be staying with the formula that has been successful through the first three games.

Stats and stuff

Foligno and Kirill Kaprizov are the only Wild players to have at least a point in each game this season. Kaprizov has five assists overall to tie Mats Zuccarello for the lead in team points. Foligno has two goals and three points.

Matt Dumba had nine shots on net in Tuesday’s overtime win against Winnipeg which tied his franchise mark for most shots in a game by a defenseman. Dumba enters Saturday with 17 shots on net for the season.

The quote:

“It shows the resilience and the composure that we’ve had.  We’re not naive to the fact that we scored late obviously in Anaheim and it was another close game in L.A. that could have gone either way.  And obviously the other night (against Winnipeg) could have gone either way. We might have the record we have but we didn’t win by four or five goals. There’s lots of stuff to correct. Happy where we are at but we have to continue to go forward.”

— Wild coach Dean Evason on Minnesota coming from behind in each of the season’s first three games to win by a goal.
