The Minnesota Wild return to the site where last season’s postseason run came to an end.

Minnesota faces the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night for the first time since a 6-2 loss in Game 7 of a opening-round Stanley Cup playoff series in which the Wild rallied after losing three of the first four games.

The Wild head into the matchup on the strength of a four-game winning streak and are tied with the Edmonton Oilers for first place in the Western Conference with 18 points.

The Golden Knights were one of the Stanley Cup favorites heading into the season but lost four of their first five games.  Vegas is a game over .500 and trails the Pacific Division-leading Oilers by four points but Edmonton has two games in hand.

Minnesota dominated the regular season matchup with Vegas last year with a 5-1-2 mark in eight matchups and a 2-1-1 mark at T-Mobile Arena.

Minnesota has an 11-2-3 all-time record against the Golden Knights.

Wild goal of year candidate?

Kevin Fiala scored just his second goal of the season in Wednesday’s win over Arizona.  But the forward showed the type of hand-eye coordination he possesses on it.
