Let’s start this off by saying contrary to the featured image, Kirill Kaprizov won’t be traded this season or ever but, there are a few other lucrative names on the Wild roster that could potentially find themselves on a different NHL roster by seasons end.

#1 Kevin Fiala

Forward Kevin Fiala seems to have found himself in the windmill of trade rumors almost ever since the Wild re-signed him to his new contract. This could be a move that Bill Guerin is toying with due to Fiala’s high salary and the Wild’s inability to spend too much since the cap will be tight due to the buy-outs of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Fiala does find himself having great games where he is doing everything right and yet on the flip side has games where he isn’t even noticeable or often taking bad penalties that resulted in him being benched by coach Dean Evason. On the flip side, he does have value in a trade, it’ll depend on what another NHL team values him at because I’m sure the Wild won’t give him up for pocket change.

#2 Victor Rask

Unlike with Kevin Fiala, Victor Rask‘s trade value will remain low and for obvious reasons. The Wild have seldomly used him this season and that has led to him being waived and later assigned to the Taxi Squad. It has taken injuries to mount up for the Wild to even play him. At this point, Rask is a shell of his former self from when he played in Carolina and I almost think any team that would look to acquire him will not only buy low but the Wild may have to almost pay a team to take him.

#3 Matt Dumba

I know some people may raise the eyebrow to this but I think there’s still a chance the Wild trade Matt Dumba. He’s got a ton of trade value and to be honest we could use the cap space so trading him for a solid asset and saving cap space could be a solid win for Minnesota. The Wild have a young defenseman in Calen Addison waiting in the wings for a spot on the big club and perhaps he’s playing a role that they like more than how Dumba plays. If  Minnesota does move Dumba out, it’ll more than likely be an off-season move but never the less something that could be done.
