The Minnesota Wild (30-11-3) continued their hot play on Monday in St. Paul as they downed the Detroit Red Wings (22-22-6) by the final score of 7-4.

And the player of the night was Wild rookie forward Matt Boldy.

The young Minnesota player recorded his first NHL hat trick as well as setting a franchise rookie record for a with four total points on the night. Fans, this kid is the real deal.

Through just 13 NHL games, Boldy has recorded 14 total points with 7 goals and 7 assist, three of those goals coming on the power play.

I mean, seriously, he’s playing out of his mind.

We’ll definitely start to here rumblings of his name in the Calder Trophy race as it continues to heat up. He’s playing so well, his new roommate Jordan Greenway is now considering upping his rent!

Everything that is going on with this team is simply amazing. Last night we obviously saw the incredible play by Boldy, but we also witnessed goals by Kirill Kaprizov (2), Joel Erikson Ek (1), and Ryan Hartman (1), ALL being scored with just 24 shots recorded. The wheels are rolling for this team.

Kaapo Kahkonen started between the pipes last night, and while giving up two quick, early goals, he rebounded nicely to help seal the victory  for the Wild. He finished with 30 saves on 34 total shots.

The team is playing great, the coaching staff is happy and the fans are ecstatic.

What a time to be a Minnesota Wild fan!

The Wild will be practice at 11:00  a.m. CST on Tuesday at the TRIA rink before taking off back up to Winnipeg for a rematch that you won’t want to miss.

It’ll be physical, high energy, and it’ll mark the return of Marcus Foligno, who served a two game suspension due to a kneeing incident last week against the Jets. Shall be interesting.

The puck drops at 6 p.m. CST on Wednesday. Can the Wild keep their recent momentum going?
