The Minnesota Wild will look to snap a three-game road skid and a four-game losing streak overall on Thursday night. But it will have to come in a city that has traditionally been a tough place for the Wild to play in, regardless of the records.

Minnesota heads into the Wells Fargo Center for the start of a back-to-back East Coast road trip, and the Wild have won just four times in 14 visits to Philadephia in the series history. It’s the first matchup between the teams since the Wild’s 4-1 win on Dec. 14, 2019, at the Xcel Energy Center.

The game will also mark  Jared Spurgeon’s 744th game with Minnesota, which sets the franchise record for a defenseman and is second among all players n the Wild’s history.

Two former Wild coaches are on the Flyers staff. Mike Yeo, who headed Minnesota for four seasons, is Philadelphia’s interim coach, and John Torchetti, who was  the Wild’s interim coach during the 2015-16 season, is an assistant coach for Philadephia.

Philadelphia sits in last place in the Metropolitan Division with 42 points, and is the first of two games that Minnesota has against struggling teams on consecutive nights. The Wild travel to Buffalo on Friday for a matchup against a Sabres team that is seventh in the Atlantic Division.

Forward Mats Zuccarello and defenseman Alex Goligoski both have the most career points among current Wild players with 16  in 27 and 30 career games, respectively.
