Cam Talbot, riding a personal seven-game winning streak, will be in net as the Minnesota Wild face the Colorado Avalance in a Central Division showdown on Sunday..

Talbot has a .918 save percentage over that stretch as he seemingly has rediscovered his game that led to him being an All-Star Game selection this season.

The Wild have rediscovered their game at the same time.

Jared Spurgeon was the hero on Saturday as Minnesota beat Columbus 3-2 on Saturday for the team’s second overtime win in as many games.

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice, including the game-tying goal with 63 seconds left in regulation, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 23 shots in his debut with the Wild.

Kaprizov is now just three points away from tying Marian Gaborik’s franchise mark for points in a season.

The victory was Minnesota’s fifth straight and the team is 7-1-1 over its last nine games to move back into second place in the division standings.

The Avalanche have been just as hot with five wins in their past six matchups. Colorado leads the NHL with 97 points.

Minnesota has lost twice to the Avalanche in Denver this season, the second of which came in a shootout on Jan. 17. Minnesota hosts Colorado on April 29 as well.

The game marks a return of Nico Sturm to St. Paul. He was traded to Colorado in exchange for Tyson Jost on March 15.

The Wild are 19-16-2 against the Avalanche in the last 37 games. That includes six shutout wins.
