The Minnesota Wild have decided to have a family reunion at the trade deadlline, and no, it's not a Hughes family reunion. On Friday, in the hours before the 3:00 p.m. ET deadline, the Wild agreed to terms on a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for forward Nick Foligno in exchange for future considerations. With that, Nick will now get to play alongside his younger brother Marcus in Minnesota with a chance to compete for a Stanley Cup.

It's truly a feel good moment for the Foligno family, as Nick and Marcus will play on the same team for the first time in the NHL.

During an interview with TSN, Nick was asked his family's reaction to his trade to Minnesota. Nick joked that he didn't even get a chance to tell his wife first because Marcus announced it in their family's group chat.

"I called Marcus, which is probably a mistake, because he blew up my family group chat and my wife didn't even know yet," said Nick Foligno. "So now I'm in trouble. But no, she's thrilled, everyone's thrilled. And it was an emotional call to Marcus."

Hard to blame Marcus. Who wouldn't be excited to team up alongside your brother with a legitimate chance to win a Stanley Cup?

Nick Foligno was the captain for the Blackhawks, but with the team falling out of playoff contention before he hit free agency this summer, the team decided to give him a chance to win a Stanley Cup alongside his younger brother. According to The Athletic's Chris Johnston, the Blackhawks dealt Foligno in exchange for future considerations.

Nick also touched on the opportunity to play alongside Marcus. Nick said that while the two are four years apart in age, they are each other's "best friend." Now, he's excited to have a chance to win the Stanley Cup for the first time with his brother on a legitimate contender.

"We're both invested in each other's success and to be able to join forces now and go chase this thing is pretty exciting. Probably the only reason why I was excited to go to Minnesota is to have this opportunity with a great team and try to do this with some investment I already have in it."

The Athletic's Michael Russo detailed the phone call Nick had with Marcus. The former Blackhawks captain informed Marcus "I'm going to a different team." While Marcus said "congrats," Nick said "I'll see you in a few hours."

Through 37 games with the Blackhawks, Nick recorded three goals, eight assists, 87 hits, and 26 blocked shots.

The Wild may not have landed Vincent Trocheck at the trade deadline, but they did land three forwards to stack up their roster. First was Michael McCarron of the Nashville Predators. Then, it was Bobby Brink of the Philadelphia Flyers. After that, it was Foligno.

It's going to be a great moment to see the Foligno brothers wearing the same uniform for the first time in their careers.
