There is plenty of playoff action in Minnesota currently. The Timberwolves are currenlty in a first-round series against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Playoffs. The PWHL's Minnesota Frost begin their playoff run on May 2 against the Montreal Victoire. Then, there are the Wild, who were looking to not just make it out of the first round for the first time since 2015, but to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history.
On Thursday night, the Wild finally got that coveted playoff series victory, defeating the Dallas Stars 5-2 to advance to the second round. Quinn Hughes had a three-point performance (two goals, one assist), while Matt Boldy had two empty net goals late in the third period to secure the victory. Jesper Wallstedt, meanwhile, stopped 21-of-23 shots on goal to continue his strong playoff run.
After the Wild secured the victory, the Timberwolves, who were hosting the Nuggets in Game 6 in Minneapolis, showed the closing seconds of their victory. The Timberwolves crowd at the Target Center, erupted in cheers to salute the Wild for advancing to the second round.

Timberwolves cheer on Wild for Game 6 win during their first-round matchup vs. Nuggets
The local sports teams acknowledging each other and cheering them on. There's nothing better than that.
Much like the Wild, the Timberwolves entered Thursday night with a 3-2 series lead with a chance to cinch their spot in the second round with a Game 6 victory. The Timberwolves are shorthanded, with Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo, and Ayo Dosunmo all dealing with injuries.
The Wild have to go through potentially the toughest path in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. First up was taking on a Stars team that wered dominant on the pwoer play. Next up, they will have to face off against an Avalanche team that had been in first place not only in the Central Division, but in the entire NHL, for the majority of the season. Then, they will take on the remaining team on the Pacific Division side of the bracket in the Western Conference Final. It's a tough road, but this Wild team looks like they are capable of doing so. Who knows, maybe defeating the Stars will gie them extra motivation heading into the next round.
Minnesota is pumped for the Wild and the Timberwolves, as evidenced by the crowd reaction at the Target Center on Thursday night.
