Bouramman’s rights in Sweden are owned by Lulea. They have him listed on their roster. That led to speculation that he was leaving the OHL to go home and play in his native Sweden. However, Dustin Nelson tweeted that he was told the 19-year-old right-handed shooting defenseman is unsure if he will play in the OHL or Swedish Hockey League this season.
Generally, when players leave their North American junior or professional team to return home to Europe, they don’t come back to North America. Many players have developed a good niche staying in Europe their entire careers and feel more comfortable in that setting. With that said, signing an entry-level contract with the Wild before leaving for Europe is a good sign that he will stay in the OHL for this season and possibly next before joining the professional ranks.

Here is how various evaluators view Bouramman.
Bouramman is a quick, averaged size defenseman who skates very well and is an excellent passer. Not overly physical but is a smart player – Tyler Parchem, Elite Prospects in 2015
Under six foot carrier who has very good puck skills, excellent feet and crisp passing ability. he is not going to engage attackers physically, but use his stick to beat them. His puck handling prowess at top speed and his lateral movement help him make excellent decisions on the attack and in his end. He plays strong with the biscuit and is a PP QB and solid transition player. Has a couple gears. Will need time to develop and get physically stronger and thicker. – Bill Placzek in Draftsite.com’s profile of Bouramman
Gustav Bouramman is a defenseman who is capable of playing a puck possession style thanks to his quickness. He passes well, but needs to develop a more well-rounded physical game in order to be trusted in all situations. – Hockey’s Future’s talent analysis of Bouramman
