Wild vs. Senators: Minnesota looks to make it 10 straight against Ottawa
The Minnesota Wild will look to continue its recent success against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
Minnesota has won nine straight games against the Senators, its second-longest streak against an opponent. The Wild, who beat Ottawa 5-4 in overtime on Nov. 2 in St. Paul, have earned at least a point in 13 of its last 16 games against Ottawa.
Tuesday’s matchup at the Canadian Tire Center is the second of the Wild’s four-game road trip in Canada. Minnesota has a 13-9-4 all-time record against Ottawa and is 5-1-2 over its last eight road games in the series.
Mats Zuccarello had a goal and an assist in Sunday’s 7-3 win in Edmonton, and has five goals and 14 points in 16 career games against the Senators.
Cam Talbot is expected to get the start in net, his third in the past four games.
Minnesota has a hectic second-half schedule, and Ottawa is ending a busy start to February as well.
Tuesday’s game will be Ottawa’s 11th of the month. The game will be the fourth in the past six days for the Senators, who fell to the New York Rangers 2-1 on Sunday.
