Nothing comes easy for the Minnesota Wild. At least right now.

But the end result is what matters.

The Wild rallied from two scores down, lost a late lead and then got goals from Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Fiala in a 6-5 shootout victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.

Now the feisty Wild carry a two-game winning streak into Columbus on Friday night  to close out a two-game road trip. It also is Minnesota’s final road contest for March as the Wild begin a nine-game homestand on Sunday against Nashville.

“We were up-and-down but it was a very emotional game,” Wild coach Dean Evason said during  a postgame media availability session. “There’s a lot of intensity right now which probably is a good thing right now. We need to be that intense in order for us to play the way we want to play.

“We did play the right way tonight,” Evason said. “(Detroit) is a good team. They’ve got speed and size and maybe inexperience a bit, but a real good team.”

Things don’t get much easier on Friday as the likely tired Wild face a Blue Jackets team that sits in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus trails Washington by 13 points for the second and final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Minnesota is 4-1-1 in its last six matchups with Columbus and has earned points in 11 of the last 17 meetings between the teams.
