The Aces were also assigned 22-year-old rookie goaltender Niklas Lundstrom who was a fifth round pick in the 2011 draft for the St. Louis Blues. Lundstrom comes to Alaska from the Chicago Wolves where he saw 13:42 of ice time, stopping all six shots he faced.
For the Aces this season, Lundstrom has played 27 games, posting a .888 Sv% and a 3.21 GAA. Of the five goaltenders who have suited up for Alaska this season, he’s played the most games this season.
Lundstrom was also one of two Aces selected selected to be ECHL Fantasy Team Representatives. He and Olivier Archambault, who is currently up with the Iowa Wild and playing very well, were picked to participate in the 2014-15 ECHL Fantasy Team. Lundstrom will wear a “specially-designed ‘Golden Goalie’ jersey” in Friday’s game against the Colorado Eagles.
