He’s spent the rest of the season playing with the Quad City Mallards in the ECHL. He’s played 53 games for the Mallards, scoring three goals and 19 assists with a plus-10 rating and 103 shots.
The signing of Rioux comes the day after the Wild released veteran defenseman Danny Syvret from his PTO. Syvret went through a series of PTOs over the season and departs the team as the defender who has played the most games this season. (He’s also the owner of the team’s worst plus/minus rating this year.)
Rioux could be back in the Wild lineup as soon as Sunday when they take on Utica in Des Moines.
